Doula Offerings

Pregnancy Support

Throughout pregnancy, particularly the last weeks, women are challenged with the concept of having to let go in preparation for birth. You are asked to fully surrender, to move inward and to lean into trust towards your baby and body. Your patience is being tested and all that is left to do is to wait. And let`s be honest, it`s uncomfortable to be in this place, facing the unknown in its purest sense. It may feel like your surges have already started, peeling off layer by layer. But here you are, with an invitation to use this sacred threshold and initiation process to expand and heal while you are moving from maiden to mother. As a Doula, Maturation Coach and deep listener, I am walking this path alongside you, providing you with a holding and the wisdom you need to prepare for this sacred transition. I am your guide throughout this journey, so you can unearth everything that needs to be seen and released before your baby is making their way earth side.

3 x Zoom Maturation Coaching Sessions. Your first Session will be 90min. long, followed by 2 x 60min. Sessions.

Emotional support, guidance and holding in between sessions via WhatsApp.

Workbook including journaling questions, recipes & bodywork exercises.

Journeying into the story of your own womb story, birth imprint and repeating patterns that keep you stuck in a place of victim. The connection between a woman’s experience of her own conception, birth and how she experienced her menarche is not often taken into account. Getting to know and exploring your own birth imprint and inherent connections to previous rites of passages opens a significant opportunity for healing and maturing. Preparing for childbirth is not an isolated experience in your life, it is in fact the expression of your life story so far, including your beliefs, repeating patterns and fears. I will support you in meeting any worries and fears you may hold at the root. From here you can begin to release your attachment to these stories, step into your power and mature into the Archetype of Mother.

Testimonials

"At almost 7 weeks postpartum I now feel I have the time and space to look back and reflect on my pregnancy and birth experience, and the support that I received during this intensely vulnerable, life-changing time. Despite the many "unknowns" faced during my first pregnancy and the run up to birthing my beautiful son, Ria played a fundamental role in me feeling strong, empowered, capable, and connected to my baby. Prior to conception, I already had a clear idea of how I wanted to birth my baby and Ria honoured and respected my vision - making me feel both seen and heard. During the final month of my pregnancy I received mounting pressure from medical professionals to abandon my dream of birthing Rui 'naturally' at home, having been told that my baby was on the 97th centile in terms of his size and that I should therefore birth in hospital. My intuition to birth at home as planned felt strong and with Ria's support I felt confident and held in the decisions that I made. I felt both relaxed, comfortable and supported in her care and trusted her advice regarding both my health and wellbeing, and that of my developing/newborn baby. Most importantly, Ria has helped me to further hone my ability to follow and trust in my intuition. This has already proven to be extremely important as I learn to navigate the transition from maiden to mother. Thank you, Ria, for everything! Laura Gwilliam

“During the last stretch of my pregnancy which was filled with pressure and anxiety (Baby born naturally at 40+11), Ria’s gentle confidence, kind words, vast personal and professional knowledge gave me the confidence to listen to my instincts, and trust my body to do what it’s build to do. I’m so glad I had her by my side. I really felt like I could trust her to speak openly knowing there would be no judgment, just support.” Rene Ravencraft

Testimonials

"With Ria by my side I was able to put in place a support system which allowed me to relax into those early weeks with more confidence. Ria cooked beautiful nourishing dishes, cleaned the house and cared for my toddler so that I was able to take time to really rest and recover. Ria is so gentle and kind and really goes above and beyond to satisfy her clients and I am so happy that she was part of my postpartum experience. I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you Ria!” Becky Cole

Hiring Ria as our postpartum doula was the absolute best decision for our family. Having the weekly support and care in our home brought so much calmness, giving my daughter and I wholesome time to bond whilst Ria took care of things for us. Something I learned postpartum is that taking care of yourself is part of caring of your baby. I spent a lot of time preparing for birth and how to care for my newborn and didn’t give enough thought to my own postpartum care - my health visitor suggested Ria and I’m so glad that she did! We will be forever grateful to Ria for all of her support and the space she held for myself as a first time Mum. We would highly recommend Ria to any postpartum family - she is a fantastic cook, great with baby, and an all round genuine, lovely person! Catherine Conway

"Compared with my first postpartum experience, everything second time round has gone much more smoothly and I almost felt indulgent asking ria to come round for an afternoon. However, I’m so glad I did! Ria came prepped with delicious cookies and homemade food (enough for the freezer too!). In the space of a few hours she had cleaned my house, mixed up delicious herbal teas, played with my 2year old son and given me time out to have a much sought after bath! She then finished her visit with the most amazing massage in the sun and a cup of warm golden milk. By the time she left I felt so relaxed and refreshed - I hadn’t realised just how much I had needed this time for me. More than this Ria took time to listen to me, ask questions about the birth and how we were all coping as a family with the transition. It felt like a relief to talk through everything and feel understood. Would highly recommend this to any new mum, or as a gift to a new mum. Honestly it felt like a mini spa session for me in my own home! Even better when I climbed into a bed with fresh sheets that night" Anna Isakson
